Yosemite

From Tahoe we went to Yosemite National Park, by way of the desert. Along the way, we came to Mono Lake, another turquoise jewel in the middle of the desert.

Yosemite was a definite high point of our trip. We drove to over 9000 feet in elevation, through snowfields at the mountaintops. The snow was still more than a foot deep in places. The valley in Yosemite was just as impressive as the 'high' side, with its giant sequoia trees, spectacular waterfalls and sheer granite cliffs.
